So I go to open my contributor’s copy of Scrapbook Magazine issue #47. I’ve beeen working with them since issue #43 and since they’re a UK-based publication, there’s a lag between the time it goes on stands and when I get my copy. I pull it out of the envelope and *gasp*, my little baby Jaimee is
on
the
cover!

I didn’t know the editor had done that! The last time a layout of mine was on the cover of Scrapbook Magazine (issue #43) I knew about it because I had to make a couple changes to my layout to make it work with their cover. This time… no idea. I can’t even describe how awesome and thrilling that was! Ron was sooooooooooo excited and proud too. I have it sitting on my bookshelf right here where I can see it and I get a big grin every time I look at it.
Here’s a closer look at my layout:

All supplies are from Designer Digitals except for the ric rac which is by Bella Gypsy.
That layout is for the sketch feature they have in every issue. Additionally, they put mine online so that people can download (for free!) the layered template that goes with it. The layered templates I make are called Diagramorama© and this one is #108. If you’d like to download the layered template, click on its image:

In other scrap happy news, it was announced today that I’ve been invited to join the Creative Team at GoneScrapbooking.com which is the site run by Irene Swain who writes the national weekly scrapbooking column for Examiner.com. I thought this would be a fun opportunity and a little different since it isn’t a store CT. That means I can create whatever I want and use what ever products I choose. Fun! I look forward for the first article at Examiner.com featuring my work as a CT member to come out next week!
Oh, and I don’t think I mentioned this here before, but Creating Keepsakes asked me for TWO layouts for the Nov/Dec issue. Sweet!! Can’t wait to see that issue!
Over the last month, I worked furiously on my 2009 Family Album. I broke it down into Volume 1 and Volume 2 and had Shutterfly books printed. I’ve gotten them and LOVE how they turned out. I’d share them with you, but I have layouts that are yet to be published in them so I can’t post the images publically. I will share the covers though:

Wow, congratulations Kathleen. Wonderful news! I should have realised it was your little girl on the cover – I just got sent some contributor copies too. Glad to hear you’re doing so fantastically!
Wow Kathleen!! That would sure be a shocker. But how cute is that page?? You totally deserved the cover on this!! But I can’t imagine the surprise and thrill when you first saw it! Congratulations!
Congrats, too, on your new creative team. That will be a fun one that you can use any product on. I am sure it kills some of the creativity when you have to stick to one store’s products when you have just the perfect element or paper that is from a different store!!
Will be waiting to see more of your great work!! Bring it on, girl!!
wowowow, congratssssssssssssss, i love your pagessssssssssssssssss, wow again!!!!!
awwww -Look at her! Congrats, well on everything! Oh I totally know that feeling and having it be such a great shot and wonderful layout is even better. Alex was a bit older when he was on a mag and he signed a copy for Granny because he was famous! LOL!
LOVE the pages and cried when I read about phideaux. Loved Naughty though – so cute and great page
Wow! Congratulations on the cover and on making the “Gone Scrapbooking” team! Your work is fabulous and a true inspiration! I so look forward to becoming better acquainted with you and your work in the coming year!
Not only is that cover amazing but that cute face makes it over the top!!! WOW! LOVE all of your examples you are sharing, wowie! As for paper versus digi – I sooooo love working with paper!!!
How amazing is that! Congratulations, Kathleen!
