One year goes by really fast these days. I started this blog a year ago and have done a pretty good job of sticking to my once-a-month-post plan. Go me!
Since my last post, when I’m not busy taking care of Jaimee, or making sure Drew & Holly are doing their homework, or unpacking (yep, still not done with that) or just generally doing the wifely, mommying, and homemaking thang, I’m making some Christmas gifts. Would love to share, but that would give it away! So here’s just a sneaky peek:

You can probably tell what it is, but I can’t help but share even just a little bit!
And now for a baking tip. Because you all know how amazing I am in the kitchen. Hey, quit that uncontrollable snickering. I made brownies this weekend with Holly and her little friend who was here for a sleepover and I decided to use the muffin tin instead of the 8×8 Pyrex. Let me clarify that. I broke the 8×8 Pyrex dish a few days ago while cleaning out the fridge – there was a cobbler in there that was getting too old. So besides the broken glass, I had a jelly-like cobbler mess on my kitchen floor. But I digress. I was forced to come up with plan B and the only concievable plan B was the muffin tin. Put a little extra oil in the batch and lather up the muffin tin really good with the non-stick spray. You know how the edges are the best part of the brownie? Well, when you use a muffin tin you get a LOT of edges. Perfect chewy brownie-edge goodness. Why didn’t I think of this before? They were insane. Even better than eating uncooked brownie batter. Which, you must understand, is usually the reason I buy brownie mix in the first place.
Ok, enough of that. I hope you all have a glorious Christmas and a peacefeul New Year!

Happy Blogoversary Kathleen
Looks like some beautiful gifts you are making
I am weird, I like the inner part of the brownie where it is all gooey
hehehe
Happy blogoversary!
The sneak looks fabulous. Can’t wait to see the full gift. Hopefully we can convince you to share in January?
Brownie muffins sounds like a great idea. Much easier to grab one to nibble on faster. Yum!
In your true wit and wisdom, you have put a huge grin on my face this morning! Loved the brownie tips and the top secret present looks like another fabulous Kathleen Summers creation!
Great post and congrats on your 1 yr. anniversary of blogging. I always look forward to your posts. May you and your family have a blessed CHRISTmas, too. Hugs.
Omigosh…I’m sitting here laughing out loud and the dog is looking at me like I’m NUTZ-but the only reason I make brownies is to “lick the bowl” – you know, about 1/2 cup less batter goes into the pan, and onto the spoon that’s headed to my mouth. I mean, really…why else would anyone make brownies…or chocolate chip cookies…other than to eat the uncooked ones?!?
Have a magical Christmas, Kathleen…I miss seeing you around now and then!
HugZ!

Happy Blogaversary, Kathleen. You went through so many changes during this past year.
Funny mentioning brownie mix. A box is sitting on my counter. Any chocolate qualifies as Christmas treats.
The good thing about having cobbler in the dish when it fell, is that the broken glass got stuck.
Have a Blessed Christmas.
Happy Blogaversary Kathleen!! Your sneaky peak looks awesome!! Can’t wait to see the entire project!
Have a wonderful Christmas!!
Hugs, Melissa
