Yesterday it started to rain and we had true fall weather. Usually I dread fall because it means the beginning of shorter days (especially after daylight savings ends) and cold weather. Summer is usually my favorite season. But I’m done with being too hot all the time. I’m still nursing and hormonal and therefore running “hotter” than usual. I’m also really appreciating the beauty of the fall colors and the cool breezes. The trees are gorgeous! Ron got me a chai tea latte from Starbuck’s this morning (those who know me know it’s my fave hot drink!) but today had him get two pumps of pumpkin spice added to it. Can you say YUM?! Holy cow, it was so good.
So yes, tonight is Halloween. But it’s also the last night we spend in this house. The movers are coming at 8:00 tomorrow morning. I’m REALLY looking forward to being in the new house! And I do mean new: it was built iin ‘05. And it’s in a great neighbohood on a cul-de-sac. It’s been a crazy ride the last few months, but I’m so glad moving day is finally here and the saga of getting to this point is almost all over. I’ll be very relieved when we’re unpacked and settled. One bummer is that the internet install isn’t happening until Nov 18th. So I’ll be offline until then. Which is frustrating because I’m usually on the internet every day and it will be weird not to have that option. But being the glass-half-full kinda gal I am, I’m going to see it as one less distraction to unpacking and organizing in the new house.
Despite the chaos of the last month, I did manage to do some scrapbooking! I was invited to be a guest designer for Paper Posies. I had to use stuff from the October kit:
To see the feature on me, check THIS. *grin*
Something else I created for Paper Posies but was not featured, was my Disneyland ‘08 layout. I created it as the title page for the trip we took last month. There are a couple non-kit items on there (striped paper, button, and felt heart, swirl, and flower embellishments). I totally used Jessica Sprague’s article in the Aug ‘08 issue of Creating Keepsakes for the digital techniques (photo collage and brushes around the edges) and the layout design as inspiration for this page. Oh, and I also loved Susan Stringfellow’s cute doodled scallop idea, so I used that too.
Here’s a pic I took of Jaimee when she turned 7 months old on Oct 14th:

And here’s a pic I just took of all three kids!

Ok, now I have to get off the computer and get back to packing and getting ready to take the kids out. So bye for now. I’ll use Ron’s laptop (he has the satellite kind of connection) to check email (my gmail address) and my blog but I’ll only be able to use that about once a week.
XOXOXO

Kathleen, Jaimee is so big!!! Oh my gosh, she is so beautiful (as all your children are)!

Fantastic Paper Posies goodies! You just make everything look great. I am so glad you got a chance to play. I cant wait to see more.
Now… we have to talk Chai! So did you order your normal chai AND add the pumpkin or did you take off one of the chai pumps? I mean, you knowwww I love your chai recipe but I would think the extra extra pumps would make it tooo tooo sweet. Maybe I shouldn’t have read this post. LOL!
Thanks for the update….The kids are darling. Where did Jaimee get those big blue eyes???? I just got back from China and Mary has not filled me in on all the news. I am going to see her tomorrow so will catch up. Let me know where the new place is and is it very far off Highway 80.
